My Apron is Complete!

Apron_picture_2 So, after spending quite a few hours with my mom, I finally finished my apron for the swap I am participating in. Just wanted to share. I love how it turned out, and will be very sad to part with it. I'm totally in love with the fabric. I got extra so I could save some...now to figure out how to sew something else so I can use my extras! :)

*Finally got the pic working!*

Falling Off the Face of the Earth...

Still experiencing major overload here...scrapbook overload...messy house overload...craft overload...photography overload...you get the picture...

Fortunately the house can now be checked off my list. I spent the entire week organizing, throwing things away, and taking several trips to DI (now all that's left is the scrapbook chaos on the bedroom floor...it is stacked in nice little piles around the perimeter of the room...now if I could just find a place for the organized chaos somewhere else, we'd be great...but I've been dutifully avoiding that mess for a month now!)

The scrapbook overload is slowly but surely being checked off too...after 18 2-pagers and an altered game tin, my A Page 4 All Seasons projects and my Heartland class samples are now compete...now all that is left is the 100 page scrapbook that I want to have finished this weekend...a project I'm also dutifully avoiding!

I've also decided that I need to learn how to sew. I found the cutest little fabric store just down the street, and look out, I have a new obsession...it's called Amy Butler fabric, and of course, it's the stuff that is about $16 a yard...fortunately I don't have a little girl to make all those cute little dresses for, but I did decide to join an apron swap that is due Monday...I've got all the fabric picked out...all that's left is the learning to sew part...I've also found an obsession with re-finishing furniture...it started with Jackson's dresser, and when I realized I'd bought almost triple the paint and supplies, I decided to branch out and finish a picture frame, Jackson's kid-sized table and chairs and am now part way through the kitchen table and chairs...the chairs are all in pieces on my front porch waiting to be sanded, and the table is sitting in my kitchen half painted...chalk that up to a toddler who doesn't want a nap....

...as for the photography, I shot two weddings in two weeks and am now working on editing over 4,000 photos...they turned out so great, and we had such a great time...but that's A LOT of photos! I also got the homepage of our website updated, redesigned our logo and ordered new business cards! Here's a few of my favorite shots from last week!

MIA...and a lovely chat with poison control

132735695_951c337d76 ....it's been awhile since I've added anything to this lovely blog of mine....I've been designing and cutting and experiencing scrapbook overload....sadly, that's about all that's exciting in my neck of the woods lately! Except for my poor neglected child that drank toilet water tonight...we were getting ready to go out and watch the Jazz game, and I turned around to grab some hairspray, and when I turned back around Jackson was drinking the water from the little cup that holds the toilet bowl scrubber...YUM! So, after frantically calling poison control with the toilet cleanser bottle in hand, they tell me that they are more worried about him getting sick from toilet bacteria...lovely...I think this was the beginning of many "hey mom, I need some attention" moments...poor guy! So, unfortunately, I have no fun/exciting scrapbook project to share, just a sad story about my poor neglected little man...but I can promise that when life slows down and the little man is no longer interested in drinking toilet water, I have some fun apage4allseasons layouts to share, and my "Ordinary Miracle" acrylic album is also ready to show off!

...and one of these days I might make up my mind on a blog design that I actually like...

PS: This is my plug for you to check out the Page 4 All Seasons booth at the scrapbook expo this weekend!

Just Another Ordinary Miracle...

...how amazing is this song? Doesn't it just seem like the perfect scrapbook subject? Wouldn't it make the most incredible little acrylic mini album....hmmm....wanna make one too? Check back here for sneak peeks of the class I'll be teaching at the A Page 4 All Seasons retreat in May!

"Just Another Ordinary Miracle" Acrylic Album

It's not that unusual when everything is beautiful. All around you, right now, are ordinary miracles. Proof that life is good. This class is designed to help you find the beauty in your seemingly ordinary life...miracles, in the most ordinary of circumstances. Kathleen Magee said, "In life there are no ordinary moments. Most of us never realize the most significant moments of our lives when they are happening."
You will complete (and I mean the, photos added and journaling included, kind of complete) a 14-page acrylic album. You will create your own photographic proof of the ordinary miracles in your life. In order to get the full effect of this class, you will need to come to class prepared with your photos and journaling ready to add to your book. Upon signing up, you'll receive a list of the supplies you need to bring and the "homework" you will need to have completed when you come to class.
